CENTREVILLE, VA—Kid to Kid of Centreville, VA was awarded Store of the Month for May 2013 by the Kid to Kid Franchise System. Owners Audrey and Donnie Poore have implemented many new adjustments to their store processes to enable a high level of success.
Last month, the Centerville’s Kid to Kid sales rose by 39 percent. This increase of more than $15,000 was caused in large part by strict focus on improvement and efficiency. Spring and summer product was ready earlier in the season and the store was ready to thrive just as the warmer weather hit.
The Poores also made significant changes to their rack systems to prepare for flux in product inventory. Before owning Kid to Kid, Audrey Poore worked at a hospital and now uses efficiency skills she acquired there to streamline store processes. “We always have stuff all ready to go out so we can restock without that time delay,” she said.
Additionally, the Poores centered their focus on the management of scheduling and employee labor. They focused on training their employees in the most effective positions at the most vital times of the day. These small changes and other allowed greater productivity, less overhead, and better store maintenance.
As the Centreville store continues to grow and succeed, the Poores are thrilled to offer their community the best things kids outgrow at significantly low prices.
